commitment reflects our dedication to sustainability and supports the UK government's targets for carbon reduction.

Baseline Carbon Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases produced before implementing reduction strategies. These figures provide a reference point for measuring progress.

We report emissions as total tCO₂e per full-time equivalent (FTE) to account for organisational growth and structural changes.

The baseline was established using rigorous data collection processes. Calculations currently include Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, while work is ongoing to incorporate Scope 3 emissions through stakeholder engagement.

Emissions Reduction Targets

To ensure progress toward Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets:

• 2025 Target: Achieve a 40% reduction in emissions (33.00 tCO₂e) compared to 2021 levels.

• 2030 Target: Reduce emissions by 70% (16.50 tCO₂e).

• 2040 Goal: Achieve Net Zero emissions.

Completed Carbon Reduction Actions
Since establishing our baseline, Semi Homes Limited has implemented the following measures to reduce our carbon footprint:

1. Transition to Renewable Energy Sources:

   • All electricity used in office operations is sourced from certified renewable energy providers.

2. Energy Efficiency Upgrades:

   • Replaced conventional lighting systems with energy-efficient LED lighting across all facilities.

   • Installed smart energy meters to monitor and optimise energy consumption in real-time.

3. Sustainable Transportation Policies:

   • Encouraged carpooling and cycling by providing incentives and installing bike storage facilities.

   • Introduced a hybrid working model to reduce commuting emissions.

4. Waste Reduction and Recycling Programmes:

   • Established a comprehensive waste segregation system in office spaces.

   • Implement window glazing improvements to minimise energy loss.

2. Adoption of Green Technologies:

   • Replace all company vehicles with electric or hybrid models by 2030.

   • Invest in certified carbon offset programmes to mitigate unavoidable emissions.

7. Digital Transformation to Reduce Paper Usage:

   • Adopt digital platforms for document sharing and storage.

   • Transition to a paperless billing and communication system.

8. Green Building Standards for Future Projects:

   • Ensure that any new facilities meet BREEAM or equivalent green building standards.

   • Incorporate low-carbon materials in future construction projects.

This Carbon Management Plan aligns with the standards outlined in PPN-0621 and follows the best practices outlined in the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard. Our emissions reporting is compliant with Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) guidelines, ensuring accuracy and transparency in tracking our progress toward Net Zero.

 

The initiatives outlined in this plan reflect Semi Homes Limited’s commitment to sustainability and our responsibility to minimise environmental impact while achieving operational efficiency.

This plan has been reviewed and formally approved by the Senior Management Team of Semi Homes Limited. It will be periodically updated to reflect ongoing developments and progress in our carbon reduction journey.
